Put a Spring in your Step with Reflexology
Have you ever been unable to pursue activities you enjoy due to pain? Many of us have experienced back pain, a tense neck and shoulders, sore feet, or headaches at some point, leading to decreased work productivity, or missing out on social or recreational opportunities.
In this interactive workshop, National Board Certified Reflexologist Melanie Giangreco of Mpath, LLC will guide participants through a brief history of reflexology, how it works, and case studies on reflexology in the workplace. Reflexology is a profoundly relaxing, unique touch technique that has been shown through numerous studies to reduce stress, relieve pain and tension, and promote overall wellness. Gentle pressure is applied to points (reflexes) on the feet, hands, and ears which represent the rest of the body. We will cover basic self-care reflexology techniques that can be used at home, as well as tips for ensuring your shoes fit properly, so you can start the season with a spring in your step.
Presenter Bio: Melanie Giangreco is a clinical reflexologist who is credentialed through the American Reflexology Certification Board. She began practicing reflexology in 2012 and has worked with clients ranging in age from a few days to 90+ years. In 2017, she opened Mpath, LLC in Richmond VT to provide individual reflexology sessions in her hometown, and self-care workshops in the broader community. Melanie's reflexology specialties include pain management and stress reduction; reflexology for pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum; and providing clients with self-care techniques they can incorporate into their daily wellness routines. Her philosophy is that everyone has something to offer and we can best share our gifts with our families, friends, and communities when we are well. Melanie volunteers with the World Reflexology Foundation, which works to make it possible for everyone in the world to receive the benefits of reflexology.
