WBON Monthly E-Newsletter - September

September 06, 2016 4:25 PM | Pat Heffernan (Administrator)

Greetings from the Women Business Owners Network!

September means back-to-school for many of us, and being in the midst of this can seem like having a second new year! Even if you’re a long way removed from a school calendar, this is surely a time to revisit goals and refresh perspectives as we head into the last months of the year.

As we all know, it’s election season and we wanted to be sure everyone knows of the upcoming Gubernatorial Forum hosted by the Vermont Commission on Women on September 22 at noon at the Vermont Statehouse. This event offers an opportunity for you to hear where the candidates stand on issues impacting you as a woman and as a business owner.

Speaking of the Statehouse, the morning session of this year’s Fall Conference, “Telling Your Story”, is being held at the elegant and historic Vermont Statehouse. WBON has partnered with Change the Story and the Vermont Commission on Women for this part of our day…the afternoon session will be held next door at the Vermont History Museum and will focus on practical business training. Registration is now open (Click Here to Register) with early-bird rates available until September 16th.

MEMBER PROFILES: Robin Singer of Juice Plus + never envisioned herself as a business owner, but this former retail manager was able to turn her passion for healthy living into a rewarding career. She has some great resources to share for those in the network marketing industry, and has WBON to thank as a resource when she was first starting out. Clickhere to read Robin's member profile.

Want to be featured in a future issue? Please email to be featured in the newsletter or to ask any other questions of your board.

WBON LEADERS: If you would like to take a more active role in leading and shaping WBON, now is the time to step up! Your Board of Directors is interested in hearing from members who would like to have a leadership role…on the board, for our chapters, and on board committees. Think about your skills and what you could contribute: we are sure you have some great talents that would help advance women business owners.

If you are interested in any of these opportunities, please reach out to board members Jill Davies, Mary Claire Carroll, or Jill Meyers
