Our Mission
- To encourage and support women who own and operate businesses
- To foster the economic stability of women-owned businesses
- To encourage ownership of businesses by women
- To improve the climate for entrepreneurship and small business at the local, state, and national levels through participation in the public policy-making process.
Today there are more women-owned businesses than ever before, but there is as much need as ever to gather together — because we are women business owners. We thrive when we connect and grow together.
We advance WBON’s mission through:
Education. Empowering our members to solve business, social and economic challenges. We provide concrete resources and information to help improve the sustainability of our members’ businesses.
Public Influence. Initiating and supporting public policy that combats inequities and promotes gender parity and an inclusive Vermont economy. We work to capture the inherent power of business to represent ideals ofequitable opportunities to legislative bodies, news media, and the general public.
Community. Members share challenges, successes and resources while developing valuable relationships in a safe and confidential environment. We also share a belief that when women do well, we all do well — and the result will be thriving local communities and a more prosperous and stable Vermont economy.
WBON provides an opportunity for women business owners and aspiring business owners to learn from one another to grow and scale their businesses.
