Fostering, celebrating and advancing women’s business ownership in Vermont.
Hiring an employee is an act of trust. How could someone else possibly care as much about your business as you do? Yet, many of us choose to take that leap, not just once, but over and over. Employees are not only essential for business growth, but each individual brings unforeseen benefits. That said, employees are a responsibility not to be taken lightly, and many business owners struggle with everything from properly processing payroll to dealing with interpersonal issues as new people join the team.
Kelly Klein, founder and CEO of Groennfell Meadery and Havoc Mead will share her story, from a two-person startup to a team of 15, with all the bumps along the way, before opening the floor for a facilitated discussion and Q&A on the subject.
Kelly Klein is the owner and CEO of Groennfell Meadery and Havoc Mead. They brew mead that is perfect for craft beverage fans: with light carbonation, single-digit alcohol content, and a dry finish, they are smooth and supremely drinkable. She and her husband founded the Vermont company in 2013, and they hired their first employee the following year. They now distribute craft mead in four New England states and have a team of 13 employees working with them.
