5 Quick Legal Tips for Busy (but still fabulous!) Bosses

In the clouds of chaos that dominate the daily life of a business owner, it is easy to let a few things slip through the cracks. But when the business owner is also an employer, even a small oversight can lead to big consequences, both in legal exposure and in the reputation of your workplace.

In this session, attorney Heather Wright will discuss five current hot topics in employment law, including:

  • independent contractor/employee relationships
  • managing culture in light of the #metoo movement
  • and multiple legislative updates impacting employers of all size,

while also giving you tips for remaining legally compliant and retaining your reputation as an outstanding leader.

Heather Wright is the managing partner of WrightJones, a Vermont law firm focusing in the areas of labor, employment, and education law. Heather advises employers of all sizes on a variety of employment issues (including writing and administering workplace policy, administering discipline and employee dismissals, strategic HR management, and leadership training), as well as all aspects of labor management and litigation. Heather lives in Bennington and enjoys knitting, reading, and getting above treeline on hikes through the Vermont mountains.
