Greetings from the Women Business Owners Network!
Here we are again at the close of another year. . . hard to believe it is yet again time for short days, snowy drives, taking stock of our accomplishments in 2016 and looking ahead to a new year. As we enter into the season of gratitude, WBON would like to thank you for your support this past year. To those members who voted in our recent virtual annual meeting, thank you for taking the time to make your voice heard to grow our organization. Your votes, comments and involvement are what keep our organization strong.
As we close the year, it’s time to mark some transitions and celebrations!
THANK YOU TO OUR DEPARTING BOARD MEMBERS: Terms are up for three of our hard-working board members, so please join us in thanking them for their dedicated service to WBON:
· Vickie Wacek, BNI Vermont
· Kendra Kenney, Donahue & Associates
· Laura Lind-Blum, The Idea Midwife
While all three are moving on from the board, they will still be familiar faces at our meetings and events so please take a moment to thank them for their hard work next time you see them!
While she remains on the board, Jill Meyers will be stepping down from her role as President. Many of you know Jill as the face of WBON- whether she’s introducing our conferences, responding to individual member questions, or representing WBON in the greater community, I am sure many of you had an opportunity to interact with Jill’s warm, capable personality. Thank you, Jill for being a tireless advocate for WBON and for women’s leadership in the community at large.
AND WELCOME TO THE NEW!
Jill will be passing her baton to Jill Davies of Avatar who will be taking on the board president role for 2017. If you have not already met Jill, you will soon grow to appreciate her strong leadership. As a board member for several years, Jill has worked hard behind the scenes of WBON to keep us organized and on track, and we all look forward to working with her as she steps into this new role.
Mary Claire Carroll and retiring board member Vickie Wacek will be leaving the executive committee as well. Joining Jill as officers of the board are Amelia Gulkis as Secretary and Kelly Klein as Vice President, with Kathryn Baccaglini to remain as Treasurer.
Finally, we want to also welcome our new board members for 2017:
