Keynote: Things are only impossible until they're not
Entrepreneurs are not the only businesspeople who sometimes face seemingly insurmountable hurdles to their business plans. Whether it’s a regulatory roadblock or a calcified corporate structure rooted in “that’s how we’ve always done it,” Janice has found ways to make the impossible happen. She offers insights, inspiration and a few good laughs from her experience with TrueBody Products, Milk Money and life in general.

Janice Shade

Co-founder, Milk Money L3C
Janice Shade is an entrepreneur and writer who describes her work as “planting trees under whose shade she’ll never sit.” At the age of 40, with two kids in diapers, she abandoned a 20-year climb up the corporate ladder with companies such as Procter & Gamble, Welch’s, and Seventh Generation, to pursue her vision to make business a positive force for change in the world. Over the past 10 years, she’s launched two companies and two non-profit organizations, all with the common themes of local economic resiliency and democratic access to capital. Her current venture is Milk Money, a pioneering “invest local” crowdfunding platform to support Vermont’s entrepreneurial ecosystem. Her favorite place in the world is the home she’s created in Jericho with her husband, two daughters and dog.
